Planning and forecasting inside Power BI
Budgeting, forecasting and consolidation run inside Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, not in a spreadsheet beside them. A planner types a figure into the report and it commits to your warehouse, with the audit trail and the approval attached.
Your forecast is not wrong because the model is wrong. It is wrong because it was finished eleven days ago.
Heineken's planning cycle. An Acterys-published result, on the platform we implement.
From source system to committed plan. Five steps, and only one of them is yours.
Acterys sits on top of the Microsoft stack you already pay for. We connect it to your systems, build the model, and hand your finance team a report they can type into.
Connect
One-click source integration through Acterys Modeller. NetSuite, Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, Xero, SAP and Oracle are connectors, not projects.
Model
Acterys builds a star-schema warehouse from those sources automatically. The cube and logic wizards do the dimensional work that normally takes a data team a quarter.
Plan
The Acterys Matrix is an editable Power BI visual. Type a top-line figure and it splashes down the hierarchy and spreads across the periods, in the report itself.
Forecast
Azure ML forecasts sit beside the actuals, and driver-based what-if lets you move an assumption and watch the rest of the model answer.
Commit
Write-back lands in your own Azure SQL, versioned, with an audit trail and an approval step. Nothing enters the numbers because somebody edited a cell in a file.
The editable report
One number moves, and the rest of the model follows.
This is the part people do not believe until they see it. The figure below is typed into a Power BI report, not into Excel. It spreads across the quarters on the model's own rules, the forecast rows move with it, and the commit is a versioned write-back rather than a file someone emails around.
Finance keeps the spreadsheet habits it likes. The company stops keeping the plan in seventeen private copies of one.
Illustration of the mechanic, not a screenshot of your data.
It plans on your real ledger. Not on an export of it.
Acterys Apps ship one-click integrations to the systems finance teams actually run on, so the plan is compared against live actuals rather than last month's extract.
NetSuite
Connected through Acterys, or through NetSuite Sync, our own product, which feeds NetSuite into Power BI and SQL without a SuiteAnalytics license.
Dynamics 365
Acterys is Microsoft's preferred planning solution and is embedded in Dynamics 365, so this is the shortest path of the set.
QuickBooks & Xero
The mid-market ledgers, connected the same way as the enterprise ones. Group consolidation across mixed systems is the usual reason people call.
SAP & Oracle
Where the ledger is not going to move, Acterys reads it and plans on top rather than asking the business to migrate first.
Mixed estates are the normal case, not the exception. Most groups we plan for run at least two of these, and consolidation across them is the first thing the model has to earn.
A rollout you can watch. Working model first, opinions later.
Acterys ships Rapid Results Packs, pre-built templates for budgeting, workforce planning and consolidation. We start from one instead of from a blank model, so the first thing you see is your own numbers in a working plan.
Scope one cycle
We take a single planning cycle you already run, with its real hierarchy and its real arguments, rather than designing a system for all of finance at once.
Connect and model
Sources connected, warehouse built, actuals reconciled against the ledger you close on. If the numbers do not tie out here, nothing after it matters.
Plan and approve
The editable report, the spreading rules, the versioning and the approval step, set up around how your team actually signs a plan off.
Hand over
Your team owns the model. We stay reachable for the next cycle, and for the ones after it, which is how most of our clients have worked with us since 2016.
The questions finance asks first. Answered plainly.
What is Acterys?
How is Acterys different from regular Power BI?
What are Acterys Rapid Results Packs?
Can Acterys integrate with our ERP system?
Is Acterys cloud-based or can it be deployed on-premises?
Acterys is used by Heineken and 1,000+ organizations, and it is Microsoft's preferred planning solution, embedded in Dynamics 365. Proceptio is a certified partner, and we have been building on the Microsoft stack since 2016.
The honest way to judge it is a walkthrough on your own numbers. Half an hour, no prepared pitch, and we will tell you if this is not the right tool for what you run.
